Found these little ladies having a get together on the inside of a wbc lift this morning, nowt amazing just made me smile so thought id share it.

WBC's do have extra uses in helping other wildlife it would seem.

Nicer than the snails, slugs, earwigs or woodlice I only seem to find!

Great little insects for aphid control.

Well thats a bugger then, now i feel like I'm harbouring a criminal.

Yep, harlequin ladybirds. They're under the roof of my long hive, and nestling in the corners of the insulation eke on my National. Beautiful things, but with a strong tendency to hibernate in vast numbers (you got off lightly: they can gather in tens of thousands at a time!!). I'm rather fond of them, but they are extremely predatory and, whilst so far they haven't had too heavy an impact, their success doesn't bode well for our humble, plain-spotted garden ladybirds. ;)Mind you, they hoovered my roses clean of aphids pretty much the same day they arrived, so I can't complain about that!
