Hi All
I collected a swarm from one of my hives last weekend, I put them in a hive of foundation and gave them a feed to help draw the comb, I took the feed off after 3 days as they had hardly touched it, they have now drawn over 7 frames in a week and have started to cap some of the stores. If this is OSR honey will they be able to use it or will it become to hard for them and make the outside frames and the edge of the brood patten unusable?
At what stage would you add a super to the hive, when the new brood starts to hatch or sooner? I was hoping they would use it all to draw the comb out I can add a super or 2 with foundation so they could use it there as well.
Cheers
Mark.
