My request for your old queens for bee microscopy:

I need old queens to dissect and study the internal organs of her and to photograph them for all to see.

Please can I have your old queens.

Around here, your old queen is your missus. Probably illegal for me to send her to you for dissection. :)

Hi Bob,
Yes as soon as members start to replace queens or start queen rearing then I would like the old queens for microscopic use.
If you can please send them in a small container but DO NOT KILL them.
I will if required repay any expenses incurred.

Thanks Bob.

Regards;

Hi BCrazy, I've recorded your address for later in the season.

You offer to refund expenses, but that is not going to happen because it's very inconvenient and most people would prefer to forgo the small expense incurred. If they weren't that sort of person, they wouldn't be sending you the material in the first place. :grouphug:

Is there any way that you might take in queens and do a nosema check on a suitable sample of dead, or live, bees in the same package - not necessarily the same container?

If you think the idea is daft, I have broad shoulders, but I thought it might be a practical idea which might appeal. If you do nosema checks commercially, then a small discount for a queen received. See, I try to think of everything - I rarely succeed though :) :) :)

Hi Hombre,

Is there any way that you might take in queens and do a nosema check on a suitable sample of dead, or live, bees in the same package - not necessarily the same container?
No problem with that. The sample of bees should bee at least 30 dead or alive and I will test for Nosema and photo the slides and pass them to you as I will not publish them on the forum because they are the individuals bees and he /she alone needs to know the outcome.
Whatever you send please mark clearly.

Regards;

I'm aiming to replace to so called 'Mongrel' queens in late august with two buckfast queens, if you're still after some I can post to you when I make the switch

Seven years have passed. Do you still need old Q's, or is this thread dead?
