How long is a piece of string
I read somewhere on here that some use nylon to strain the honey through.
i'm not a nylon person so if i go into my local shop what should i ask for
please. Or just ask for a bit of nylon lol ...

A bit of muslin, perhaps doubled, works. The "nylon" you refer to are cloths made with specific distances between the fibres for straining honey.

You can get straining bags from wine making shops - or on-line. They have different sizes depending on what you are straining.

I've been buying brewing stuff from them for years, and have never been disappointed (latest batch of yeast, crown caps etc arrived today, ready for first batch of cider tomorrow - happy days).
