it does make me wonder whether it is just to drum up some interest. Word gets around, people see bees going for that money, so the site is flooded with bees on for sale, generating fees for the site.

Maybe just the cynic in me, but why would you pay that on a website without having a general google. "bees for sale" brings up this site top of the list, and a number of others- surely you would have a look and check the going rate before paying double?
