I picked up another nuc for myself at the weekend and placed it in the brood box on sunday morning. I was advised to put a feeder on to help them get going. Had a quick look in tonight and have noticed they have not touched the syrup at all. Is this normal?

Yes in a word.

YOu don't say what strength of syrup but the bees have probably got a real flow on and so dinna need it.

Watch the returning bees are they flying \ ? If so they are nectar laden.

A kilo to a pint, is pretty strong stuff. Usual summer mix is pound to a pint. Or kilo to a litre.

Check the way they are flying and I think you will find they are "bum down" indicating full tums.
