let joy be unconfined! Nora Batty has today presented us with her first egg...........

Nora (so-called because of her feathered legs/feet, which bear a more than passing resemblance to her namesake's droopy stockings), rather than heading out this morning, stayed in the nest box - an hour or so later, she popped out, leaving behind our first egg from this flock (of 7)
This undoubtedly proves "the law of sod" - they are now circa 20 weeks old, and as we aren't giving them supplementary lighting, it was a toss up if they'd come into lay now, or leave it until spring....... last night I was given a tray of pullets' eggs, this morning....... (but I'm not complaining) :)
