The death of that tiny colony is not a bad alternative either

isn't that just a little bit adolf hitler'ish ?

We are supposed to be trying to help Helen keep her colony alive...and give her moral support together with friendly encouragement....:=)

No, it's common sense to me. Sometimes it's better to cut your losses and move on.

Currently I have fondant on my hives. Looking at my forecast on http://www.accuweather.com/en/gb/hereford/hr1-2/month/322313?view=table its now saying around 21st its going to get substationally hotter (near enough double the temp!).

Am i best waiting until the day before and adding some 1:1 syrup or best to do it a week before if the forecast is still the same.

and buy in some bees fit for purpose .......?

....do really need to consider if propagating weak genes from a weak non surviving colony is a good idea?

.

Dead hive is very normal in beekeeping. Don't mix moral in this issue.

Otherwise Forum should nominate "the official funeral cryers" which makes the obligatore crying with tender and softnes.
