i have been keeping bees for 2 years and have 2 colonies. ihave a couple of begginers books but now need something to take me a little further over the winter. am not after an advanced book here but don`t need to reread siting a hive etc. any suggestions? i also work shifts and so find it hard to attend association meetings.

For bee health and bee biology I would recommend Celia Davis' books:
The Honeybee inside out & The honeybee around and about.

In a previous post, Beecrazy recommended the Dadant book, The Hive and the Honeybee. I bought a copy based on this recommendation, and although not cheap, it is excellent.

You may find that beyond the beginners books, you find excellent specialised publications- eg on Queen Rearing, Disease, Biology etc and this is the best way to go.

If you make it to Stoneleigh or to the National Honey Show, Northern Bee Books have a stand, and it is a good opportunity to flick through books.
