i have a colony on a single brood with a new laying queen and have a second supersedure cell

i had two next to each other last week and destroyed thinking as shes newly mated, it may just be they got the wrong end of the stick

but again today, two supersedure cells side by side, no otehr q cells or cups at all

rather than wait 4-6 weeks for another q to emerge and mate etc, can i just remove the q and q cell (my plan was to stick them in a nuc and see what happens) and unite a q plus 5 bia from a nuc in a brood box over paper above the original colony now q-?

You have got a lot of hives to look after. If you are happy with the genetics I would reduce to one and let them get on with it. Mind, you will have to go in 5-6 days later to remove emergency queen cells. This year my bees have gone crazy too wanting to reproduce, but they have also collected a super full of honey to my amazement, so it is not all bad.

yes, well, 9 hives plus a nuc which have all gone crazy to be honest and still are so im now around 12 hives but the nucs i put queens into when showing swarm intentions have gone crazy too

thanks for that
