Tonight we added much needed new features to Hive Tracks.
Please see the “Hive State:” field on the “Hive Information” tab.
You can get to this screen by clicking any hive icon in the system. This field has a default value of “Active” but you may change it to a type of “dead out”. When a hive’s state is anything other than “Active” it will be dimmed, indicating that it is no longer a viable colony. You may still edit a dead hive; this gives you a way to do a post-mortem using notes, inspections or whatever you like. Take advantage of the "Description" field of a hive to describe what you think caused its demise. Please note that hives can still be deleted if you want to permanently remove all traces of it. Later we will add a way to hide or show your dead outs but for now we wanted to get this feature out there so you can manage your hives better as spring arrives. Please give any feedback you like.
Along with this update we also got rid of many of those annoying “edit masks” which made it difficult to enter numbers and dates. We now display temperature in both °C and °F. We currently only support “mm/dd/yyyy” as a date format but hope to better support our international friends with other date formats as soon as we can.
Sincerely,
The Hive Tracks Team
