national super frames

have bought some diy frames for my super, they go together great but what actually holds the wax in , i was going to panel pin the frames to make them secure , there is a piece of wood on the frame that looks like it would accomodate a wedge of some discription and that would hold the wax in or do i panel pin throught the lugs ?

i always use nail long enough to nail sidebars only from one side and i never bother to nail second bottom bar. haven't had yet blown apart superframe..
