Never been, closest i got was dropping Mike P off at a nearby hotel, ready to do his few days of talks, never seen so many vehicles or people, did not like that part of the country at all, was pleased to get back to the peace of Exmoor.

Your comment about the traffic had me worried. - so just googled. I can walk from my riverside cabin to the honey show 1 hr 11 mins via the Thames tow path. Must admit it's a bit of an expense just to go for the honey show - but its a part of the country I love and I'm making a little holiday out of it.
Not surprised you were glad to get back Pete - you live in a really pretty village.

And a nice drive it was, through Minehead with the castle on the hill, and past Bristol, and the market town with the ancient wool market, and past the military base, and on M? to Surrey. The time spent with you and your family was a highlight of my trip.
Any plans on visiting the UK again Mike?

You sound like me, even my village has become too busy for me.

How long does it take to cycle there? Why are you worried about the traffic?

I was worried about the traffic as Pete made comment on how bad it was - but have since spoken to dinah who goes every year - and she says traffic is fine. So I will walk if weather nice and drive if not! No idea how long it would take to cycle - dont know whether to take bikes...

I have been going every year 4 the last 3 years. The affect trafic has on your journey depends on which side of Addlestone/Weybridge you are coming from, and what happens/ is happening on the M25 and/or the Chertsey road. I have to commute via the M3/M25 every day and have to go through J11 which is the Chertsey/Addlestone junction.
So if you're coming from the East/SE/NE then you shouldn't have any major issues unless something goes wrong on the M25 or the A317/A320 junction. At that point all bets are off. Some mornings J11 is bad and it takes me 10 minutes to get through, some mornings it's really bad and it takes me 30 minutes to get through. Last year on the Thursday there was a major pile up on the M25 and knowing about it and trying to avoid the chaos I didn't use the M3/M25 but came across country. It took me over an hour to get from St Peters hospital, 1.5 miles West of J11 to St Georges School, that's about 5 miles.
