National hive size

Hi,


Can anyone tell me the correct height to make a standard national BB.

I allready cut 5 full hives from the plans here: http://tinyurl.com/ybjsk4g
the plans are for 14x12 deep but i would like to make a standard size so i would like to know what to change the height to and keep the correct beespace.

I have had to get a tape measure out to convert it . It looks like 225 mm to me.

poster nucs

Has any made up nucs using election poster boards I first seen this used on TV an American beekeeper was using them and today I came across a man with a dozen made up and the cost each approx 50p

I took down Correx election posters for my local Conservative candidate. I got 59 of them and they make good dummy frames (no comment), division boards and roof covers my sense of humour ensures that the candidates face glowers at the bees on the dummy board.

I don't suppose that said candidate realises quite how he is directly supporting my bees and the best of it is that I can positively say that I got something good out of the current government. Something that might be increasingly difficult to say in the short to medium term future.


Boxes tend to be 15mm deeper than the corresponding frame depth.
