Very nice pictures; I particularly like the three shadows on the right of the first photo, showing the three sets of landing gear very firmly "down".

A bit like when you see aircraft landing on a carrier, I thought.

Any bees that miss or hit the grass can walk up into the hive.

What type of bee are they? They don't look like the British black bee.

Lots of Commercial hives.......
Where's HIVEMAKER based (doesn't say on his profile)?

Looks like a very nicely made hive.

Hi Geoff,

TO me they look like an Italian, Carnolain hybrid. The last picture are Irish Dark Bee some of the bees you see in the photo are drifters from the strong colony, they got lost one day I was working with both hives. All the nurse bees in that hive are black and also the queen is black as I seen her on Saturday. I shall bee sending a sample of those bees to get them tested to see how pure they are or NOT!
