Mould on frames

anyone know the best way to clean mould off drawn frames? pollen that has some mould on it in stored frames.

I would put the whole frame in a steam wax melter. If you don't have one of these cut out the wax and run a blowlamp over the frame to melt the remaining wax and hopefully kill off any remaining mould. I wouldn't reuse mouldy wax but would replace it with foundation.

It's not the wax that is mouldy but the pollen. This does happen on occasion and as above the only cure is to melt or burn.

its some frames that got damp (my fault) and its the pollen that has mould, I was wondering if thymol would clean/kill the mould off rather than having to melt them down?

bees clean moudy combs. They bite away spoiled wax up to good foundation wax.
In cold weather wax is crispy and you may rub worst combs away.

Finmans advice is good,no need to destroy good combs because of a bit of mould..
