Stepped into the garden earlie, slipped my bare foot into my Croc shoe and received a sting on my middle toe, the most painful sting I have ever had, the pain was quite intence for a few minutes, foot swelling up a bit and rather itchy, ouch !

Will be inspecting my shoes beforehand in the future !

Single sting was a queen wasp. Multi stings when I knocked three hives over. Everywhere!

How on earth did you knock three hives over?

Long story, Piled all the supers from one hive on a table with wonky legs. Legs gave way, that fell on to another hive toppling it onto yet another hive. I had a few seconds of quiet, an overpowering smell of almonds rose and then all hell broke loose. Even the hives that were still upright came out to play. the hardest thing was putting my bee suit back on to go and try and repair the damage. Unfortunately it was an old suit which my 'placid' bees had always respected. They knew where the holes were though! I went back covered in newspaper and gaffa tape.
Still, it was a learning curve on keeping hives a respectable distance apart!

The most painful stings I have had have been on the end of the nose!

I've been stung on the inner ear and twice on the end of my beak, the ear hole hurts like hell but its game over when stung on the end of the nose as I couldn't see for the eye watering.

On one particularly off day for the bees (I think there must have been thunder) which is the the only time that have stung me so far, on that day they got me several times. One through the gloves, one in the chin and one on the rim of my nose. Being my first stings; when my eyes went watery and nose began to ran it was quite scary, after a few minutes I was fine though.

I now wear a ventilated cap which helps keep the veil away from the face.

Fantastic!! :icon_204-2::smilielol5:

Deep in the ear canal. The amplified angry buzzing made the experience all the more unpleasant. It was painful enough to persuade me to suit up whenever I go near my hives

Swarm. Oooooooo sir!!!:icon_204-2:

Extracting two weeks ago, a bee flew up my shorts. That was interesting :D

I know two Beekeepers that have had stings in that area! one was through a rip in the groin area of the suit - he ran to what he thought was a safe distance and stripped down only to realise he was facing a row of houses :spy:

The other was up his shorts and well... Tennis ball was mentioned :icon_204-2:

Eyes running + uncontrolled sneezing for 3 mins, WOW!:svengo:
Didn't get much swelling afterwards but looked like Rudolph for a day or two.

good idea ...

I also got stung thru my suit last night on the shoulder when lifting .... guess I should wear a denim shirt and trousers under my bee suit ...even in the hot weather to provide another barrier layer ?
