Looks like Finnish Honey Paw hive.

Swedish Nacka hive has thinner walls.


The poly water roof has been meant to use as insulation in the hive model.

In Finland ptofessionals use moisture permeable wind break boards as inner cover. They use on top 3 pieces of boards. Then ventilation gap and a water roof.

Now in the face book picture she has only on layer of board. The board is cold and it condensates water. Then gap, which ventilates and dry up the wood fibre board.

Too thin insulation. That is all. And twig gap spoils the insulation, which is above.

I would say this misunderstanding.

Yes one of the ridiculously thin quilts but its better than the open vent the North Americans are fond of. But then their approach is high metabolic stress, high food consumption, only large colonies for overwintering
