Hi all. Just discovered colony that was a prime swarm is now queenless and has laying workers. Just what I don 't need so late in the season !!!!

so this is a call out for anyone who could supply me a mated queen at short notice to save the colony so I can introduce early next week.

I'm in north Wilts.

regards

S

I presume you can, and intend to, deal with the laying workers before introducing a queen? Other wis likely failure.

Regards, RAB

indeed, although views on the best way are appreciated - I'll ask in the main forum

S

from memory, I would a) shake all bees out and let the older bees return b) add a frame of open & capped brood to get the hive rolling again, c) get a mated queen and knock out any queen cells they started, add her and leave them for a week
