AFAIC,
"There are a lot of beeks in my association reporting x y or z" is just gossip and I still don't see any benefit.
Someone who posts what they experienced for themselves is not scientific but it's not hearsay either. Nobody is asking for a scientific report but personal experience goes a lot further than what you heard on the grapevine.

Benefitting from other peoples experiences is good. Consistent reports of a particular problem or other can reveal a problem where one beekeeper would not realise it. Hearsay is another thing entirely.

"There have been consistent reports that xyz is a problem" is fine. "My mate Dave in the pub rekons that xyz is a problem 'cos someone told him" is not.
