Bought a book from Amazon last week. Came from The Book Depository.

Had it for 2 days and some pages came loose.

Emailed and complained.

Answer the next morning,,, Very sorry, do you want a refund or replacement? Didnt ask me to return the faulty one, so I didnt ask if they wanted it back.

Replacement came today,,,, so now I have 2...

Pity that some other companies dont realise the value of after sales service like that.

Northern Bee Books are the same, Very good after sales service. The only problem is that the first one didn't turn up so I only have 1 copy:)

I think good service isn't that unusual, just not as often reported. 'Company does well, clients happy' isn't what watchdog are looking for.

My experience with Amazon has been entirely positive. They sent me a replacement memory card (that failed after ~6 months) before I'd managed to ship the bust one back to them. They have a very efficient system for handling returns, replacements and refunds. Recommended.

Good service

Good tip if you have no luck resolving problems with companies that refuse to acknowledge complaints is go on to companies house. gov.uk & ask for a directors report, about six quid. This will give the home address of the MD and his cronies which has to be on the report as it is a matter of public record. That is where the complaint is posted to, bypassing the minions.

I can assure you that the happy clients on average say nothing.

I can assure you the unhappy clients, who are too scared to say anything on site are only too willing to tell lies and exaggerate on line.

I don't mind provided I have right of reply but sadly one of our main on line sites has yet to see the light.

:iagree:
It's nice to read the good the bad and the ugly.
Its easy for a supplier to make the correct sounds and yet not live up to expectations when providing a service.

I will also give the thumbs up for NBBooks, always shipped next day and in stock.
Remember they are a specialist bee book supplier, sometimes they may cost an exta few shillings but you use them or lose them.

yes spoke to NBBooks yesterday, could not have been more helpful.
