Well in theory both could be true.
Number of bees declining but keepers going up, especially if there's a significant drift to small home beeks.

I think the decline is likely to be reversing though, as it does seem to be getting more and more popular. My Association course has 80 newbs on it, and still plenty on the waiting list!

My feeling is they drag a story out about bees every now and then to fill a page. There's rarely anything current in such ariticles.

I was told when I first started (by a BBKA member and before I got my bees) that beekeeping is a middle class hobby.

I'm 100% pure peasant stock and didn't know what the person was on about!
