I was inspecting a colony that had swarmed on 17 April, I had left 2 queen cells. I found both cells still sealed but cleaned down to the lining and one being chewed open by an emerging queen. It only took her a couple of minutes to get out and run down into the hive.
I very carefully cut out the other cell and while doing so noticed that she too was emerging I managed to assemble a hair roller cage with a bit of honey and she walked quite calmly into it. She is now sitting in a super until I can get a mating Apidea together.
Two Queens NO cast - RESULT

Hi MJ
Nice one with the queens.

I introduced the queen i hatched at home today to a queenless nuc via a cage, i also watched a queen emerge in another hive, which was queenless.

Once a virgin queen emerges how long do we need to leave them alone for before we inspect again for any eggs ? is it two weeks ?

10 days to 14 days if weather is good :cheers2:
