Hi all.
I lost a nuc over the cold winter, with it not being warm enough over the last few weeks i have opened it up to find no life.

What am i best to do with the drawn out comb?
Any recommendation to prep the frames for re-use?

Thanks

Anyone able to help?
Looks like some of the bees had been dead a while.
Do i remove the frames and clean them up?

What did they die of?
If it's varroa/dwindled colony you could clean the wax up best you can and re use the frames. On the other hand if it's only six frames is it worth the bother. Me? I'd just throw the lot away

Remove the wax/comb and melt down (as above might not be worth it), bin/burn the frames (unless pre-wired) - if so boil and re-wax etc.

Clean/treat the box

Yeah, I'd not be at all keen to re-use the comb unless I knew I understood why the colony died out and that it wasn't going to be a problem in the future. If there's any doubt it's better just to melt them down.
