Just been called out to a swarm that settled in the roof of a house. It was found in a hedge this morning and flew off this afternoon to its new location across the road. 21st August!!! a prime swarm.
Will be difficult to remove but I don't think it will survive the winter where it is. I may be wrong though.

Could it be from a colony that has run out of room and absconded, rather than a proper swarm? Seems really late for swarming, though I still have drones merrily coming and going in at least some of my hives.

Caught a swarm in neighbors garden on Saturday 19th... as it was getting dark!
Unmarked yellow stripey queen... not one of mine!!

Had one myself yesterday, lucky I caught it on a apple tree, It was a nuc that I had been given early July they had loads of room and I have already made two further nucs from it both of which keep superseding their queens I guess they are not a good strain and will be re queened with my own if they come through the winter.
