Soz am not on laptop at mo, is this a lime tree it was buzzing with life.

Looks like a Whitebeam (Sorbus) of some description. Does it have greyish backs to the leaves?

Definitely not Lime. You can crush Lime leaves and they smell of Lime ...

I'd go along with that. Def. whitebeam, almost certain Sorbus mitchellii, but there are a couple of similar ones. Close relatives of Rowan, if that helps.
