So I need to decide whether to renew my BBKA membership?

I need it because of the insurance.........

Is there any other way I can get insurance without joining?

Yours Roy

You can get product and public lib insurance from the NFU.

NFU told they have no interest in Bees. Alnwick branch.

NMTF do employee, public and product liability insurance....but it costs £88 a year currently.

N F U defonatly do insurance, for bee keeping.

Leicester & Rutland BKA get there insurance from the Market HArbrough Office.

They also quoted me last year, :(

Makes BBKA membership and insurance good value though...

Ah but does it?

Ya see it all depends on what the coverage is. And it seems to me to not actually cover a great deal.

Thanks for the heads up I will give them a call.

I joined in Oct 09 - mainly for the insurance reasons mentioned. I did a reasonable trawl round the web and found no cost comparable alternative. Having established that I joined the local association (with BBKA thrown in) so hopefully will gain in other ways as well.
