Is the weather too mild at the moment to consider oxalic acid treatment

So, after much deliberation and advice from bee gurus on this forum. Yesterday I trickled my two hives.
You may recall… my base boards were showing a high count of VM (60+ Each). The advice was not to wait and get trickling.
Prior to going ahead, I checked the boards again. Not as many VM and no brood cappings to speak of. So ahead I went.
Surely, the emphasis should be on the state of brood for best results and not temps?
