Having just recieved my BBKA newsletter I have to confess to being confused.

The object of my confusion is the STOP PRESS.

Either this is a monumental climbdown or should be read with sinister undertones.

We have also just learned of The Cooperative's new initiative "Bee Plan", which commits a very welcome ?150k to bee health research. Their interest is the effects of pesticides, particulary 'neonicotinoids', on bees. This is an area covered within the BBKA Bee Health Research Concepts and we will work with them to identify appropriate research units to carry out this work
Now to my mind with the BBKA's current stance on the chemical companies the CO-OP would be best served by having nothing to do with the BBKA.

So do the BBKA believe that chemicals need researching in which case surely any endorsement has to put on hold pending research or are they hoping to steer the funding in the direction they want it to go.

Also has anyone seen this BBKA Bee Health Research Concepts
