I decided to try Thymovar this Autumn as I don't get on very well with Apiguard but like using thymol in principle. The first strips have now been in for three weeks; looking beneath the crownboards of all three hives I can see the strips have been heavily propolised at the bottom where they are in contact with the top bars, also the thin sides of the strips are propolised so am wondering if this is affecting the working of the Thymovar as I also noted that there is minimal varroa drop on the inspection boards - cannot think that I am lucky enough to have such low varroa counts at this time of the year.
