Does the panel have any thoughts on where to get insurance for this noble pursuit that Middle England embraced so firmly.

Importantly where is the line between BBKA insurance and doing it for a living insurance and what is there to ensure is covered.

Thanks in anticipation

I read this in an L&G's office lift in The Temple City of London.................

"Freds strong stuff insurance !!"

some sort of paradi graffiti on a TV advert!

I take it you didn't get a number?

Do you mean liability insurance for your bees and your produce, or do you mean insurance if someone steals your hives?

BBKA insurance

surely the BBKA covers the full range from those interested in bees through hobbyists through to commercial concerns? Its not the B-Amateur-BKA after all.

the website has the policy details for perusal - http://************************/members/insurance_files.php

its only when you get over 39 hives that specialist BDI is needed.

The best cover as I understand it is through the BFA.

BDI has been pretty much vilified on this forum and I am awaiting a good news story about that situation.

I was talking to a farmer the other day who was moaning about the NFU insurance.

He was saying they are going more mainstream just like all the other companies, not anything like they were a few years back.

Rather than lets look after our own its now profit profit profit first.

All you mention would be good I think.

thanks for answering all

Polyhive "The best cover as I understand it is through the BFA."

Is the BFA the Bee Farmers Association because if it is you need to be recommended and have 40+ hives I believ
