I collected a swarm yesterday a big swarm of Carnies all yellow . I placed them in an observation hive and feed them . They are on fresh foundation. At 0830 this morning the bloody lot had come out of the obs hive and were hanging around the hole used for the entrance. So I scooped what was there into a skep and left them. At 0900 the majority had gone back into the Obs hive. Thank gawd. So now hopefully I have an observation hive on the go.
My first thoughts when I saw the bees outside this morning was what have I done wrong why are they out. They do look different with the Gray ish hair on the thorax.
So that's my tale of woe.

So that's my tale of woe.

My tale of woe is that I haven't had one call-out for a swarm yet, even though I'm on all of the local council's and pest controller's lists.

Hurry up!!

Hi Finman,
I did mention the grayish hair on the thorax when referring to the bees. But the colouration is so distinct from my bees its a real eye opener. Oribal.
