up to 1 acre with 2-3 bed house.Suggestions of sites to look at? I can afford up to ?200,000 and would like to find somewhere in England, NOT near London. Many properties of this type are not advertised nationally: does anyone have any contacts they can recommend?Sites like primelocation etc are geared towards house-and-garden buyers:I'm looking for somewhere out of the way with a piece of land.

Decide on a location for a start, then contact the local estate agents, some are more likely to deal in this kind of property than others.

Personally I don't think ?200,000 is anywhere near enough even in this economic climate for what you want, unless you are looking at somewhere like North Wales or Scotland in the hilly areas where the land is poorer.

In East Yorkshire it would be possible to buy somthing along them lines.

But prices are still going up despite "problems"
