What you need to do is stuff plenty of bees between the frames, which will act as a cushion, and prevent the frames shifting

Seriously I had to move a hive 21 January 2012. It was less than 3 miles but the bad weather kept them in for a while. I was worried they would fly back but they seemed to like where I put them.

even hoffmans will swing cos of the gap at the bottom! Unless you've got 12 frames jammed in!

Not if you use a dummy board to keep the frames tight and if your screen board has a wooden crosspiece holding down all the topbars
