Got back from holiday the middle of September. No brood! Fed bees like mad over the following few weeks. 2 weeks ago found a little brood. A couple of days ago there was about 2 frames-worth. Question: How long into autumn will the Queen keep laying? Does anyone think there is enough brood to last the colony through the winter? The colony is incredibly strong at the moment but we appreciate that these bees won't live until the spring. They are very busy bringing in pollen from michaelmas daisies and ivy flowers. I guess there's nothing else we can do? This is our first season of bee-keeping.

Perhaps the hive has shanged the queen to new one.
But it is normal too that they start brood rearing when you give winter feeding.
When the hive is strong and they have a laying queen, things cannot be better.
