It's been about 8 months since the official launch of Hive Tracks (www.hivetracks.com) and we're still humbled by the response. To date, thousands have created accounts and are using Hive Tracks to start their spring off right. We've gotten a lot of feedback from users so we're sending this e-mail to let you know what we've learned, what's been added and what's coming.

A special thanks to everyone who took our "New Feature Survey" (at the top of any Hive Tracks page). The results of that survey are listed below. Also, we would like to encourage you to take the other 2 surveys linked from Hive Tracks. The Winter Loss Survey and the Hive Management Survey. Responding to this type of research is helpful to all as beekeepers.

New features ready to use now:

 • Hive State - Select a hive by clicking on it, then change its state. This will allow you to remove dead hives from view but not loose the valuable data like inspections and queen history.
 • Hide Inactive Hives - In views that list hives, hover your mouse over the "Action" menu and select "Show/Hide Inactive Hives".
 • Support for IE9 - After upgrades to Hive Tracks, our testing shows that it works just fine with the new IE9.
 • Harvest Tracking - Enter honey or pollen amounts harvested using any unit of measure including gallons, quarts, pints, liter, grams or ounces. We will show hive, yard and overall total production.

New features in planning:

 • iPhone/Android application - This was our number one request in the survey. The development of an Android application for Hive Tracks IS underway
 • TODO List with reminders - You will be able to make a general list of stuff that needs done. A new TODO task may be associated with a hive or group of hives, a yard or group of yards or just an note to remind you to take an action
 • More - We're gathering input all the time and will try to implement the top requests as fast as we can!
Hive Tracks is a powerful web based application where you can keep track of your hives, queens, inspections, feedings, medications and more.

Any up date on the mobile /Android development. Would love to use Hive track but only pc means virtually doing everything twice notes at apiary then at home seems a waste.

Or not at all if you're a mac user who prefers not to propolise the mobile phone!

How is the Android development coming along? When doing hive inspections I would like to be able to list hive traits such as Hygienic behavior, Temperament, Verola levels, ect. listed in a 1 to 5 drop down box. Especially when in the field drop down boxes save a lot of time.

I may well go back and have a look again once the Android version is available, as I found it all a bit clunky before, GN.
