I was going to add as one of the poll options "Roof void" but did not think it was fair to see Admin destroying his house to get a hive in his roof space:hat:

I have gone for national, purely because I have them and it would help me to read more about bees in them.

If money was no option, I would have bought WBC or Langstroth.

I have all 3 and least like the WBC.
It looks the best and has just had a repaint but I find it a pain to work.

I am sure it would be fine, you only live a couple of hours from me and I could take the pics while you work it.

Taking skeps to London? did he not realize there more advanced in London than that, they use TBH there. He needed to come west with them, down here with all us natural beekeepers.Skeps and bee's in trees ,and buteflys in the little meddows.

I voted for a poly national. I use poly and insulated hives here in Sweden and have been very impressed with them, especially for spring build up.

I use a Sk?lderhus type hive here only because they are made 20km up the road and they are what my beekeeping friend and supplier and all the locals use.

Some one needs a queen which lay only couple of palm size. Normal queen lays skep full in few days. Then exit!

In old good days beekeepers were in trouble with their old hives because they cannot use breeded strains.

One year my neighbor complained that my Carniolan swarms had occupied 5 flying squirrel's hives which he had made.
Some of these squirrels have lived in my cottage yard in bird houses.

Poll looks a close run one. Langstroth slightly in the lead at the moment. When does the poll close Admin? Is there going to be a late surge for one tyoe of hive or another???
