Just got started this year and so far it's been an exciting ride. My bee keeping mentor Phil (Hi Phil, I've joined!) recommended I join as I have so many questions.
Started off nice and easy with a lovely colony and decided to transfer them on to 14x12 foundationless frames (that bit is going well), it's the swarm with a working layer, an old queen with a few frames of bees, a new queen with a few frames of bees and hundreds of wasps that have really made it a steep learning curve. But I'm getting there.
Working layer and new queen 'removed', new queen was not laying well and colony looked to superceed her. Swarm, old queen and new queens bees are currently being united.
