Hello from Italy

I have 3 dadant hives and 3 nucleus hives at the moment. I am located in a forested area at 300m above sea level in central Italy. The winter is like the south of England and the summer temperatures are between 30C and 40C.
The high summer temperatures and lack of rainfall in the last few years has limited honey production. There is a very big nectar flow in April. Looking forward to reading your posts. Phil.

What sort of honey do you get in the Spring?

We never had much success with early spring honey. This year they came through winter very well. We try to stop them swarming by giving them space in the hive and splitting. The result is that we get mixed flower honey in June. Last year the temperature went to 40C in May and we didnt get any honey.
