Does this type of feeder sit on top of the frames or over a crown board?
If over a crown board, should the crown board have a slot cut in it to correspond with the slot entrance to the feeder? If not over a crown board, shouldn't the feeder incorporate a bee space under the base?

I was thinking about making one as per Hedgerow Pete's video.

I use one of these and it fits over the frame, bee space is incorporated in it.

Edit: just checked out petes and his brother adam and milner fit on a crown board.
