What temp do you use to heat honey for bottling and how long at this temp.
I have 2 30lb buckets of honey that is doesnt seem to want to run out of the honey tap. I now have a heating cabinet with thermostat so what does it need to be set at?

Thanks for the "download" Polyhive.Just the job for our would-be(e) Ass'n exhibitors to read.

I have no idea where Matthew is now but a, he was NDB qualified and b, he trained under Bernard Mobus at Craibstone and you can be assured he knew his stuff.

A very nice person to boot.

He would be pleased I am sure that this work is still proving helpful.

Thanks PH, A very good article, I guess it was written some time ago because -

Quote " The normal defences against wax moth are out of the question PDB will ruin honey for consumption" Unquote.

PDB has been a no no for ages, just in case anyone does not know.

it's still being used

over heard a conversation between two older beekeepers
discussing wax moth one of them told his mate he just puts
moth balls in the supers with the frames, his mate said he
thought it was not allowed.
This is inspite of an email from the local bee inspector via the
scretary to all members not to use.

Hope they get caught if they are using it there is no excuse.
