I wonder if it will stay like it too? My first super of the summer had a slight green tinge to it when first jarred, a few weeks later it had gone and was just a pale gold colour.

Plenty of green honey around during and a few years after the war .y
beekeepers were allowed sugar up to and above the ration .
it was dyed green to prevent it being used for other purposes than feeding bees .
upshot being it found it’s way into honey .
although I suspect Lime in this case .

That really is an interesting colour - any ideas as to what and why?
I think it’s lime some of it is very translucent and it tastes citrusy could also have phacelia nectar in it.
Last year we had lime honey but it wasn’t so green .

Wasn't the green dye added to sugar in ?the 60s or early 70s? Not sure why that sugar was available to beekeepers but its mentioned in Oliver Field's 'Honey by the Ton'. I know from family stories that wartime sugar often ended up where it shouldn't have been, never heard of it being dyed which would surely make the stories even better.

you have to be careful - a lot of the time it's the colour of the glass rather than the honey. I remember years ago I had a pallet full of jars from Patteson's which was distinctly green. I won the commercial class at the Gower show that year and the judge (who was fairly local) sook me out to have a chat as he was fascinated 'by the green tinted honey' I hated to burst his bubble when I told him it was the glass :icon_204-2:

I think you’re on a winner there.
I found some advertised elsewhere with this blurb

The product can increase your life-span by enhancing your blood circulation and provide the necessary materials to sustain your youth.

They are selling it in 50ml jars.

Yes I have some jars that are slightly tinged green.

Are you sure it's referring to honey? or do I just have a dirty mind? - no don't answer that.
