Some years back there used to be a pair or two breeding in Haldon Forest in Devon. They haven't been seen for a while now. Occasionally the odd bird is seen flying over Norfolk, but perhaps we now have too few bugs. Also, they are sadly fair game for trigger happy people as they fly north across Spain. (The RSPB don't let out any news if they are nesting here, until after the event.) Perhaps they'll soon stop off in France and prevent the AHs from crossing the Channel.
