Give your bees water.

I understand that bees need water and being new it's a question thats crossed my mind, surely if bees have a 3 mile flight radius then if a pond etc is 100m away they will find the water.
That then leads me to think do nurse bee's leave the hive or is there enough moisture within from the stores.

You will find that bees find water from some extraordinary places when they need it .. I have a garden pond and they tend to use that most of the time .. they like the moss around the edges and the dead stems of the loostrife.

I've seen them pick up water from muddy puddles, anything that has water in it - even crawling down the leaves of Teasels to drink up water that has collected by the stems. If they need it they will find it.
