One suggestion made by local bee inspector (see other thread), was that to counter wasp threat you can angle a sheet of glass across the front of the hive. Seems wasps cant figure it out but clever bees know to go around the edge.
Only mentioned as I've not heard of this before (though admitedly that doesnt mean much).
In the meantime looking forward to my delivery of rat glue and what thats going to do to the buggers.
