My aim is 2.5g +/- 0.3g.

I use a scoop that weighs around 2gms a time. I'm not bothered if I vape a bit more or a bit less. Absolute accuracy in amounts when vaping is not something I worry too much about. My rule of thumb is one scoop per brood box. Currently the only mortality's appear to be varroa.
As long as we don't go silly and start vaping kilogram tubs per hive.

We are not doing chemistry experiments here.. the recommended dose for sublimating OA depends on teh hive size and whom you read - a range of 1g to 2.75g is possible.

As I have said before, I don't need to weigh anything.

I have a plastic spoon (circular so it does not spill easily) which when full to the brim and levelled contains roughly 2.5g of OA.
So fill it up, level it with a knife/flat blade/etc and I'm ready to vape.

No risk of faffing about, less to do and less to carry.

Ideal for an old duffer who is semi senile..

I think that LASI found that the optimum measure of OA for vaping a hive (regardless of size/type) was 2.25g But they also said that a lot more would do no harm so there is no great need to measure out the crystals to the nearest drachm.
I jus fill up little plastic screwtop pots at home beforehand, fill my pocket with however many I need and off I go - no need to fiddle around with scoops or opening containers at the hive then - the pot fits inside the bowl of the varrox so it's unscrew lid, invert varrox over pot, flip over, little tap against the hive roof and good to go so doesn't even matter if it's raining or windy.

I do the same i faffed about measuring the stuff last year, i then discovered some little tubs with snap on caps that a friend buys mints in, they hold hold the exact amount i need, so all i do is lightly fill the tub with out packing it down and job done, no scales required anymore unless i loose my little tubs.

Was this thread not about "solution" and not "vaping"?(see above) Trickling was apparently a little less tolerant of concentration changes?
