My favourite film series, not sure what the Ballard of songbirds & snakes will be as found the book to be hard work.

I once spent 2 hours watching a rat and a hedgehog fight in a pub carpark.

I stayed until the end as I needed to see who would win. It was a thrilling closely matched affair, with each gaining the upper hand at various moments.

Eventually the hedgehog won on points.

That's only because he spiked his drink!

I actually did witness two moles fighting many years ago, there was a bit of woodland/pasture behind my granddparents house and in the hedge was an old rotted galvanised water header tank sunk in the brambles which had made a natural amphitheatre, I heard this scrabbling and squealing and in the pit were two two moles, blood and fur flying everywhere - it was a really vicious fight!!
