No they often spawn at this time of year.

My pond on the Costa del Fareham is full of spawn after last night as well ... something in the air or the phase of the moon ? Highest spring tide in the last 20 years last night at 00.35 hrs. Frogs affected ?

Usually have frogspawn in my pond by third week of Feb, on the allotments all set about with millionaires mansions, but not yet this year.

I also normally have spawn by third week of Feb even though we are 1000ft up on the north side of a Welsh hill but this is because our pond is spring fed so never freezes. Though it is snowing at the moment which is why I am on the computer and not outside.
