Using pheromones to attract or repel Asian Hornets, the fact they have a launch to market date of 2022 is encouraging.

Just seen this, excellent article as I wondered if this was possible.
Even better as I live in France I wondered if someone could make something like a car air freshener that sat on the hive to say this is a hornet nest, and not your hornet nest so move away. Whatever they have I will buy it if it works. Currently using the 'Muzzles' which stop the bees being pinned down but they still get caught, if this works they will make a fortune.

Interesting article but not new technology. There are all manner of potential problems with this approach the most significant of which is that it is not an elimination strategy which is what is required for VV. I keep harping on at this but Mazamazda's method of catch, treat, release is the way to go where there are established infestations.
