I find that the air gun and brad nails are a cost efficient and much quicker way of making frames so long as you have a decent compressor.

The air gun I have costs £21.67 and you can buy 5000 18G/20mm brad nails for £5.99 which weigh about 900g.

have a compressor ... /saves this post for future reference/

fair point but for those using staples .. they aren't coated tho right ?

It makes no odds if they are coated or not..i have a good few frames ready for new foundation this season..they where knocked together with veneer pins over four years ago and they are still as strong today as they where when i first made them..

Which one did you buy?

I've got the Ryobi ONE+ 18guage. It honestly takes the effort out of what i find to be quite a fiddly and time consuming job. I can nail a whole frame together in less than 10 seconds once it is all assembled. The only disadvantage is that the frames are harder to disassemble if you wish to boil and reuse them.

OK thanks - maybe next year, I think I'm done frame making for this year.
